Obituary of Yolanda C. Carpenter

Yolanda C. "Yola" "Loni" Carpenter, age 88, of Maryville, TN, formerly of Geneseo, died Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Blount Memorial Hospital in Maryville, TN. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Carpenter and her daughter, Jan Meigs. She is survived by her children, Lori (David) Carpenter Wayne of Geneseo, Edward (Sharon) Carpenter of Maryville, TN, grandchildren, Michelle Meigs of Florida, Jason (Kaitlin) Lippert of Tennessee, Justin Lippert of Geneseo, Caitlyn and Jacob Carpenter of Tennessee, great grandchildren, Kyle, Jayla, Cameron and Carson, brother, Alex (Rosemary) Chiara of Geneseo, sister, Rosemary (Frank) Jacobs of California, many nieces and nephews. Yolanda was born January 31, 1926 in Geneseo, NY the daughter of Alexander and Josephine DeFrancesco Chiara. She was a Secretery for the English Department at SUNY Geneseo and a Legal Assistant at Sciarrino & Sciarrino Law Office in Mt. Morris. Yola was a long time member of St. Mary's Church in Geneseo. Calling hours will be held Friday, March 21, 2014 from 3-7 PM at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 12 Noon at Mary's Church, 4 Avon Rd. in Geneseo with Father Edward Dillon officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Geneseo.
