Norm came to Pa to visit his friend and my Dad Duane. I always looked forward to visiting with Norm while he and Donny would visit with my parents. Norm would bring my sister and I pens, shirts and trinkets from him running for diffent offices in his home town. Rest in peace Norm. You will be missed.

I have learned only today of Norm's passing. School would not been the same without Norm and our gang that lived rural lives. He came to David Clark's funeral just a few months ago and I was so happy to see him and get to say hello. He will be sorely missed at the Fourth of July day celebration and many more events. Rest in the peace of our Lord. Vicki Clark Korosi

We're so sad to hear of Norman's passing - he was truly a nice guy with a great sense of humor. One of our favorite stories about Norman is when we got our sweet little cat, Annabelle. We wanted to get another kitty so we called Norman, who told us to come to the farm. We spied a beautiful little calico cat, and Norman caught her for us. She had ear mites and an upper respiratory infection, so we took her to our vet who told us she was also pregnant. Ellen, of course, was thrilled, and called Norman to tell him the news. In true Gates fashion, she also razzed him about giving us a pregnant cat and said he needed to pay "child support". Norman claimed he did NOT police the cats or what they did during their "off" time - as far as he saw things, it was buyer beware - laughing as he said that. Many, many more good memories come to mind, and we'll miss him terribly.

To the entire Gates family
So many memories over the years with Norm and the Curry Family--he truly was a part of our family! There were always smiles, laughter and big conversations with him. He would do anything for anyone as shows with the many organizations he joined and of which he dedicated his time--very giving, caring, touching the lives of of all of us. He will definitely be missed and may Norm "Rest in Peace".
PS We picture Norm right now conversing with my brother, Pat, as well as big discussions and fun with other farmers, friends, relatives, all smiling.
Our hearts go out to you~~

Norm was a good friend to me ever since high school. He was always willing to help in any way; especially to me while I was in charge of our firemen's field days over the years. He will be missed by many.
Rest easy Norm, you deserve it.
