Obituary of David A. Clark
The Honorable David A. Clark, age 80, of York, passed away with his family by his side, Friday, March 31, 2023 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. He was predeceased by his parents, Austin and Frances Clark, grandson, Dominic Clark.
He is survived by his children, Tobi (Steven) Hefferon of Wilson, NY, Brenda (Robert Schleyer) Clark of York, Stacy (Clint Taft) Ferrara of Mt. Morris, David (Ashley) Clark of Retsof, grandchildren, Jessica, Brian, Ashton, Makenna, Jake, Paige, Michael, Emma, Marissa, Jayden, and Vincent, great grandson, Oliver, brother, Harry (Sharon) Clark of Perry, sister, Victoria Korosi of FL, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Dave was born August 19, 1942 in Warsaw, NY, the son of Austin McLean and Frances Agnes Alianell Clark. He was a proud United States Army War Veteran returning home from Vietnam on Easter Sunday 1966. Dave graduated high school from York Central School in 1960 and went on to earn his Associates Degree from SUNY Morrisville. He owned and operated D. A. Clark Enterprises where he was a Railroad Locomotive Mechanic and Inspector. After working many years for the G&W, he retired from the LA&L Railroad. David was a Town of York Justice for over 20 years. In addition to being a dedicated public servant, David enjoyed fast cars, motorcycles, substitute teaching at BOCES, roasting pigs, fishing, and being a good Grandpa. He was a member of the New York State Magistrates Association, Livingston County Agriculture Society and Fair Member, Central Railway Club of Buffalo, New York Steam Engine Association, Empire State Pullers Member, Warsaw Moose Lodge 560, American Legion Post 1007 in Cuylerville and a lifelong member of the Retsof/York Fire Department and WNY Vol. Fireman's Association.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 7, 2023 from 3-8 PM at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo where his Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at 10 AM with Pastor Dan Case officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in Leicester Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to York Fire Department, P.O. Box 409, York, NY 14592 or the VFW Post 5005, Box 221, Geneseo, NY 14454.
