Obituary of John M. Lockhart

John M. Lockhart died December 15, 2022 at 78 years old. Born October 28, 1944, John was predeceased by his parents, Dr. James H. Lockhart, Jr., Julia S. Lockhart, and his brother, George S. Lockhart.

John is survived by his children, John M. (Lynne Mazadoorian) Lockhart, Roland B. Lockhart, and Zachary J. (Laura Kelly) Lockhart and grandchildren, Mackenzie Williams, Lincoln Lockhart and Lachlan Lockhart. He shared a special bond with Martha C. Lockhart. John is also survived by his brother, James H. Lockhart, III, sister, Susan Lockhart, nephews, Seth Lockhart and Stephen Eardle-Scofield, many special cousins, a lifetime of good friends, and was a friend of Bill W.

John had several careers that began with his service in the US Army from 1964 to 1971. He owned several lively establishments where people loved to gather, including Gentleman Jim's in Geneseo, and the Belle Starr Lodge in Colden, NY. Later, he earned his Master's degree in social work and practiced counseling. John made friends easily in Western New York and Palm Coast, Florida, where he resided, and helped many along their way.

The family wishes to express deep appreciation to the 7W and Palliative Care teams at Highland Hospital for their compassion and excellent care.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 6, 2022 from 4-6 PM at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St in Geneseo. Memorial Services will be held on January 7, 2022 at 11 AM at St. Michael's Church, 23 Main St. in Geneseo with Father Michael Laver officiating.

Graveside Services will be Private.
