Obituary of Frederick W. Ingalls Sr.

Frederick W. Ingalls, Sr., age 90, of Groveland, died Monday, June 13, 2022 at his residence. He was predeceased by his daughter, Kimmy Einink, and his sister, Alma Thom.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jean Ingalls, children, Stephen (Kim) McTarnaghan of FL, Robert McTarnaghan of Groveland, Fred (Dawn) Ingalls II of Groveland, son in law, Mark (Shelly) Einink of Clymer, NY, 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and niece, Julia Thom.

Fred was born May 14, 1932 in Perry, NY the son of Theodore Roosevelt and Bernice Strapp Ingalls. He was a graduate of York Central School where he was a three sport standout in soccer, football and basketball. Fred worked for the Salt Mine in Retsof and retired from Rochester Telephone Company as a Lineman after 23 years of dedicated service. After his retirement in 1987, Fred went to work for Carmen Construction and Electric as a Line Training Supervisor. He was also a fishing guide in Canada for over 20 years. Fred was an avid bowler in the Perry Bowling Association and at Livingston Lanes in Geneseo where he had bowled two perfect games. He was also inducted into the National Bowling Hall of Fame. Fred pitched fast pitch softball for 50 years and an avid outdoorsman.

No prior calling hours. His Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 17, 2022 at 11 AM at the Sparta First Presbyterian Church, 4687 Scottsburg Rd. in Groveland.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sparta First Presbyterian Church, 4687 Scottsburg Rd., Groveland, NY 14462.
