Howard S. Viele, age 85, of Geneseo, died Sunday, March 20, 2022 at Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris, NY. He was predeceased by his brother, Allen (Wanda) Viele.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Patricia Thompson Viele, children, David (Becky) Viele of Albany, Sarah (James) McLean, Joy Viele, grandchildren, Charlotte and Alexander McLean all of Geneseo, brother, Richard (Darlene) Viele of Murrells Inlet, SC, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Howard was born October 19, 1936 in Syracuse, NY the son of Charles and Nevada Allen Viele. He earned his Associates Degree at Alfred State College in Technology. Howard served in the US Air Force as a Radar Engineer. He was an Electronic Switching Technician and retired from the New York Telephone Company in Syracuse. Howard was also a contributing member of the Association of BellTel Retirees Inc. He was a life member of the National Rifle Association and the NY Arms Collector Association. Howard was a lifelong Presbyterian and member of the Central Presbyterian Church in Geneseo.

No prior calling hours. His Memorial Service will be held on June 19, 2022 at 2 PM at the Central Presbyterian Church in Geneseo with Rev. Dr. Nancy Lowmaster officiating. Interment will be in Marion Cemetery.
