Obituary of George A. Burns Sr.

George A. Burns Sr., age 78, of York, died Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. He was predeceased by his sons, John David Burns, George "Butch" Burns Jr., step children, David "Coot" Cuozzo, Stephen Cuozzo Sr., granddaughter, Brittany Burns and sister, Eileen Lougee.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann Burns, daughter, Kelly Burns Russo of Troy, NY, step children, Richard Cuozzo Jr. of Cuylerville, Brenda McCormick of Avon, Kelly Cuozzo of Leicester, Joanne Cuozzo of Greigsville, 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

George was born September 9, 1943 in Syracuse, NY the son of John and Genevieve McDonald Burns. He was a US Navy Vietnam Veteran. George retired as a Pipe Insulator from the Insulators Local 30 in Syracuse, NY.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 from 4-7 PM at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo where Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at 10 AM. Burial with military honors will be in Leicester Cemetery.
