Obituary of Gordon R. Gilg

Gordon R. Gilg, age 67, of York, died Saturday, December 25, 2021 at Rochester General Hospital in Rochester, NY.

Always one to share a joke, or slide a sarcastic comment into a conversation, Gordy's passing leaves a void no other could fill. A devoted husband, father, son, and friend; his presence will be forever missed in a room. He was predeceased by his father, Richard Gilg and brother, Peter Gilg.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Patricia, children, Heather Gilg of Jacksonville, FL, Candice Gilg of Spring Hill, TN, Shannon Gilg of Canandaigua, Kyle (Lauren Fisher) Gilg of Caledonia, Carissa (Donnie) Davis of Boerne, TX, 5 grandchildren, mother, Pauline Gilg, sisters, Peggy (Cook) Montemarano all of Cuylerville, Pam Gilg of York, brother, Larry Gilg of Mt. Morris, many nieces and nephews.

Gordon was born January 2, 1954 in Dansville, NY the son of Richard Earl and M. Pauline DeLavergne Gilg. He was a graduate of York Central School class of 1972. Gordy was employed as a Shipping and Receiving Specialist, after 48 years of dedicated service for ARKEMA Inc. in Piffard.

No prior calling hours. Memorial Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
