Obituary of Betty Jane Sanderson

Betty Jane Sanderson, age 93, of Groveland, died Monday, December 20, 2021 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville, NY. She was predeceased by her husband, Samuel Sanderson, brother, Fred McCaughey Jr., sisters, Agnes McClurg and Marion Hanna.

She is survived by her sons, Mark (Taki) Sanderson of Silver Lake, David (Sandy) Sanderson of Geneseo, step son, Dennis (Linda) Rowell of Hamburg, grandchildren, Justin (Gerly) Lee, Jessica (Mark) Cobos, step grandchildren, Brian, Eric and John Rowell, great grandchildren, Griffin and Gretchen Lee, many nieces and nephews.

Betty was born October 10, 1928 in Geneseo, NY the daughter of Fred and Marcia Teeter McCaughey, Sr. Betty had over 54 years of Government Service, 38 of those years were serving as the Town Clerk for the Town of Groveland. She was a longtime member of the Sparta First Presbyterian Church and Choir and the Order of the Eastern Star Mt. Morris/Perry Chapter.

No prior calling hours. A Celebration of Betty's Life will be held at a date and time to be announced. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Groveland.
