Obituary of Michael P. Woods
Michael P. Woods, age 74, of Geneseo, died Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. He was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Helen Woods, sister, Margaret Wetmore.
He is survived by his children, Chris (Shannon) Woods of Santa Cruz, CA, Meghan (Paul) Glieco of Amherst, grandchildren, Stellan and Scarlett Woods, Luca and Fiona Glieco, several nieces and nephews.
Mike was born December 28, 1946 in Oneonta, NY the son Arthur and Helen Goggins Woods. He graduated from Oneonta Public High School in 1964, earned Bachelor's Degree and his Master's Degree from SUNY Geneseo. Mike retired from York Central School as an English Teacher and coach. He was a decorated SUNY Geneseo Cross Country and Track & Field Coach. Mike retired in 2015 after 23 years at SUNY Geneseo.
A Celebration of Mike's Life will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 4pm PM at Schrader Gymnasium at SUNY Geneseo, 1 College Circle in Geneseo. Doors will open at 3:30. NOTE: Masking is required indoors on campus.
