Obituary of James V. Callahan Sr.

James V. Callahan, Sr., age 89, of Retsof, passed away peacefully Monday, October 11, 2021 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Ellen Callahan, parents, James and Doris Callahan and brother, Abe Callahan.

He is survived by his children, Jim Callahan of Rochester, Dennis Callahan of Rochester, Tom (Vicki) Callahan of Webster, Brenda Callahan of Rochester, step children, Jeff (Linda) Farruggia of Louden, TN, Jill (Ken) Foote of Retsof, grandchildren, Tracy (Jay) Coleman, Adam Foote of Retsof, James (Bonnie) Foote, Elaine Barr, sisters, Sheila (Hank) Schafer of Warsaw, Libbie Pennock of Pittsford, sisters in law, Dixie (Larry) Chichester of Piffard, Mary (Art) Bernecker of Retsof, many nieces and nephews.

Jim was born March 4, 1932 in Ellicottville, NY the son of James A. and Doris M. Dillon Callahan. He was a US Army Korean Conflict Veteran. Jim retired as a Film Emulsion Division Supervisor for Eastman Kodak in Rochester. He was a longtime member of St. Lucy's Church in Retsof.

No prior calling hours. His Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 15, 2021 at 1 PM at St. Lucy's Church in Retsof with Father Sylvester Bioh officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Geneseo.
