Obituary of Peter A. "Al" Mastrolio

Peter Albert "Al" Mastrolio, surrounded by his loving family, passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2021. He was born October 30, 1926 to Giro and Josephine Scorsone Mastrolio.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Pam and his son, Peter, siblings, Arthur (Marry) Mastrolio, Phyllis (Angelo) Occhioni, Elaine (Anthony) Temperato, brothers in law, Angelo Giglio and Dick Morgan.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Barbara Brown Mastrolio, his daughters, Dawn Mastrolio, Debbie (Denny Harrington) Mastrolio, Terry (Dave) Peck, daughter in law, Patti (Al) Price, grandchildren, Nicki Beardsley, Kristen (Anthony Grimmelt) Beardsley, Heather (Greg) Davy, Shauna (Dennis) Mucenski, Bethany (Jason) Schenck, Kali (Peter) Casper, Sarah (Tim) Roegiers, Erin (Alan) Brady, Michael and Matthew Hellems, great grandchildren, Chloe, Kylie, Alex, Kaden, Madison, Riley, Hannah, Tobey, Claire, Jacob, Michael, Cameron and Leah, sisters, Geraldine Giglio and Donna Morgan, many special nieces, nephews and good friends.

He was a veteran of World War II serving in Berlin Germany. He retired as the Vice President of Operations from the Genesee & Wyoming Railroad. He was an active member of the American Legion.

First and foremost was Peter's love for his family. He was an avid gardener proud of his garlic, tomatoes, and peppers that he shared with everyone. His musical talents were well known as one of the finest guitar players and were enjoyed by many throughout the area. He played with many bands; most recently Kelly's Old Timers and The Pearlz Band.

Special thanks to his two nephews, Mickey Temperato who kept is lawn in pristine condition and Mark Occhioni who supplied him with anything he asked for or needed. His niece, Sharon Brown who made numerous trips from California to be with her "second Dad".

Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 10, 2021 from 4 – 7 PM at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo. Memorial Services will be held graveside on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 11 AM at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Mt. Morris.
