Obituary of Richard W. Bark

Richard W. "Dick" Bark, age 86, of Geneseo, died Thursday, March 18, 2021 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville, NY. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Madalyn Bark and his brother Lee Bark.

 

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Patricia Curran Bark, his children, William (Betty) Bark of Warsaw, Mary Ellen Bark of West Henrietta, Caroline Haley of West Henrietta, Christine Bark of Elmira, Edward Bark of Chicago and Conan (Denna) Bark of Geneseo, grandchildren, Stacey (Jeff) Chien, Rachel (Bill) Seymour, Daniel Haley, Patrick (Sarah) Bark, Aiden and Gabriel Bark, great grandchildren, Joseph Seymour, Parker and Evelyn Chien, his sister, Sheila (Steve) Goddard of Canandaigua, sisters in law, Carol Bark of Brockport, Sheila Van Briesen of Denver, CO, several nephews.

 

Dick was born March 5, 1935 in Rochester, NY the son of William and Madalyn Purvee Bark. He was a graduate of Geneseo High School Class of 1955. Dick then served in the US Air Force, retiring after 15 years as a Staff Sergeant. He was a Vietnam Veteran. Dick was retired from the Developmental Disabilities Service Organization in Geneseo where he was the Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor. Dick was an avid archeologist and in April of 1984 he was presented the Meritorious Service Award from the New York State Archeological Association.

 

 

Friends may call Sunday, March 21, 2021 from 1-4 PM at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo. His Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, March 22, 2021 at 10 AM at St. Mary's Church, 4 Avon Rd. in Geneseo with Father Jeff Tunnicliff officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Geneseo.
