Obituary of Barbara M. Leighton

Barbara M. Leighton, age 87, formerly of Melody Lane in Geneseo, died Sunday, February 28, 2021 at the Friendly Home in Rochester, NY. She was predeceased by her husband, Bill in 2012 and daughter Nancy Leighton.

She is survived by her daughters, Margret Leighton of Airmont, NY, Debra Chicoine, grandchildren, Christine Penza of Webster, Jeremy (Alexa) Maglio of NC, Rachel (Michaell) Miller of MD, 6 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Barbara was born December 10, 1933 in Batavia, NY the daughter of Edward A. and Marie H. Bleur Spear. She was a former member of the Central Presbyterian Church in Geneseo. Barb enjoyed crocheting clothing for her doll and teddy bear collections. She loved all cats especially her most recent feline friend Hope. Barb was an avid bingo player during her time at the Friendly Home.

Due to COVID-19 there will be no prior calling hours. Memorial Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Temple Hill Cemetery in Geneseo.
