Obituary of Harold "Skip" Smith

Harold "Skip" Smith passed away peacefully Tuesday night at Strong Memorial Hospital after an arduous battle with prostate cancer. He leaves behind his wife of 29 years, Sally Smith, his children Tammy St. Pierre, her husband Bill St. Pierre and Tim Smith and his wife Megan Smith, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and his sister Karen Smith.

Skip was known to have a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam years and was incredibly proud to be a steamfitter with Local 13 for many years. He loved spending time with his family... especially early morning breakfasts at Denny's with Tim. He enjoyed reading, playing euchre, bowling and camping; sitting around a campfire with a large group of friends or playing cards at the Capa Lounge were some of his favorite things to do. Skip was pretty feisty and everything he did, he did with gusto! His laugh was big, his heart was big, and his family and friends were dear. Now, as we say goodbye to our dad, husband, brother, grandpa, and friend continue to remember his zeal for life and the cherished memories that he leaves behind.
