My sincere sympathies go out to Sally and the entire Gallivan Clan. I had the opportunity to work with Dick when he was the Station Commander at SP Horseheads and later when he was a Captain out of SP Canandaigua. A knowledgeable and compassionate Lawman who taught many over the years the art of policing.
Rest in Peace,my friend as you take your place as a Sentry at Heaven's Gate with those Officers who have gone before you, knowing " blessed are the Peacemakers for they shall be known as the Children of God."
W.V. Powell, Ret. Captain NYS DEC Police

My condolences to Pat and your family. I worked for your dad in the early 80's when he was Lt. at SP Henrietta. He was a great commander and a great guy. He was a great influence on my career as a young Trooper. I am grateful to him for that experience. May God bless and comfort all of you during this time of grief for your loved one. May he rest in eternal peace.

Dick and Sally were Oak St. neighbors of ours for many years, and their house and yard were always so beautifully and meticulously maintained. They made sure to attend our son Paul's HS graduation party, even though they had moved by then, and it was so sweet to see them both again. They are very much missed on Oak Street, and Dick will be missed by the entire community. Condolences to his family.
