Obituary of Mary Kyle DuPuis

Mary Kyle DuPuis of Williamsburg, VA died peacefully on January 19, 2016 at the Williamsburg Landing where she resided for the last 8 years. She was born in Rochester, N.Y. on June 4, 1927, the youngest child of John and Katherine Kyle. She is survived by her seven children, David (Lei) DuPuis of Toano, VA, Mark (Beverly) DuPuis of Marina, CA, Adrienne (Mac) Kimbrough of Bolivar, OH, Brian (Kathy) Dupuis of Moss Landing, CA, Mary Ellen DuPuis of Troutdale, OR, Kevin DuPuis of Seaside, CA and Susan (Juergen) Maurer of Eppstein, Germany. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Kyle and sister, Helen Kyle Conlon. Mary Kyle graduated from Geneseo High School where she was active in sports, scouting and played the violin. She attended the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA. Mary Kyle married the late Arthur DuPuis of Boston, MA. She had an active life as a homemaker and mother of seven children. Mary Kyle began her career for many years at Williamsburg Community Hospital. She also was the office manager for the late Dr. John Fletcher a pediatrician in Williamsburg, VA. After retiring, she enjoyed traveling, bird watching, volunteering for Elderhostel and Colonial Williamsburg at the George Tucker House. Mary Kyle was active in many groups including, Kingspoint and Kingsmill Garden clubs, Kingsmill Book Club and Wine and Dine and the Williamsburg Poetry Guild. She was a member of St. Bede's Parish and active in ARK and Haiti Outreach. No prior calling hours. Memorial Mass will be held Friday, July 22, 2016 at 2 PM at St. Mary’s Church, 4 Avon Rd. in Geneseo where Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Teresa House, 21 Highland Rd., Geneseo, NY 14454 or the American Cancer Society, 1120 S. Goodman St., Rochester, NY 14620.
