To the Friends & Family of Robert 'Big Bob' Garrett,
My condolences to the family and friends of Robert Garrett. I heard of Bob's passing several months after he left us to be with his beloved parents and sister. I only just found this site to leave a tribute.
Bob was a co-worker of mine at the City of Rochester SWMD on Colfax St. He was charged with keeping the City's fleet of Refuse & Recycling Collection vehicles in safe working order by working with the operators and Fleet Services on Mt Read Blvd. He made sure that we were able to do our job as housekeepers of the City of Rochester. As a conscientious, dedicated employee, he worked many long days and long nights year round.
Bob was also a friend. He helped me personally by fixing Have-A-Hart traps used by Habitat for Cats volunteers to trap feral cats for spaying & neutering. He also participated robustly in our Chocolate Bar fundraisers.
Lastly, after Bob passed away, I found out he is family. I began working on FamilySearch.Org in 2019 and found that Stanley Garrett is my 14th cousin, dating back to the 1400's in Suffolk, England.
Bob loved fast cars, music and his family and friends. That was the Beauty Of Bob. I hope that the passage of time brings more smiles to your lips than tears to your eyes. I am richer for having known him.
