Rogetta "Joy" Timothy, age 75, of Geneseo, died Sunday, July 5, 2026. She was predeceased by her parents, Roger and Harriett Bell Sr., brother, James Bell and sister, Debby Shaw.

She is survived by her children, Shanna (Chuck) O'Loughlin of Fairport, Chad (Olivia) Timothy of Geneseo, grandchildren, Colin and Ryan O'Loughlin, Jacob and Evan Timothy, siblings, Marti Nevins of Savannah, GA, Roger (Ruth) Bell Jr. of Le Roy, Betsy Linsner of Piffard, several nieces and nephews.

Joy was born March 27, 1951 in Penn Yan, NY the daughter of Roger and Harriett Eddy Bell Sr. She was a graduate of Geneseo High School, class of 1969. Joy enjoyed the simple things that made life special. She had a lifelong love of NASCAR, a passion that began with her father, who was a NASCAR driver in 1954. She was also a devoted Elvis fan and loved expressing her creativity through crafts and decorating. Nothing brought her more happiness than spoiling her beloved grandchildren and creating special memories with them. She cherished traveling with her sister, Marti, and treasured the many adventures and laughter they shared together. Her warmth, creativity, and generous spirit will be remembered by all who knew and loved her. 

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2026 from 4-7 PM at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo. Private burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Geneseo.
