Charles A. Balkus, age 80, of Leicester, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 4, 2026 at his residence. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Margaret Balkus.

He is survived by his loving wife, Susann Mosby Balkus, daughter, Melinda (Jason) DeClerck of Leicester, several in-laws and extended family.

Charles was born June 30, 1945 in Detroit, MI the son of Charles W. and Margaret A. Wasilewski Balkus. He earned his Bachelors Degree from Michigan State University in 1967. Charles was a Registered Nurse for the Livingston County Correctional Facility in Sonya until his retirement. Upon retiring, Charles volunteered for over 15 years at the Mt. Morris Food Pantry. He was a member of Celebrate Family Church in Leicester.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026 from 4-7 PM at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo.
