John Patrick Collins, age 77, of Geneseo, died Thursday, December 18, 2025 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville, NY. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Lila Collins, brother, James Collins and sister, Florence Perkins.

He is survived by his loving wife, Darlene Dale Collins, children, Tonya (Robert) Semmel of Geneseo, John (Selena) Collins II of Wayland, grandchildren, Cheltsea (Gary) Scutt, Taylor (Lauren) Semmel, Jason Semmel, great grandchildren, Faith, Makenna and Klayton Layland, Charleigh Scutt, step grandchildren, Eli, Rachel and Clara Tant, several nieces and nephews.

John was born September 30, 1948 in Rochester, NY the son of John C. and Lila Bernice Boyer Collins. He was an Operating Engineer for CP Ward in Rochester for many years. John trained harness horses for many years at various are race tracks. He enjoyed bowling and camping on Wellesley Island with family. He was an avid Buffalo Bills fan.

Friends may call Monday, December 29 from 4-7 PM at Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo. A Celebration of Life in the spring will be announced. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Groveland.
