Mary Ellen Peter, 91 of Piffard, died December 6th, 2025 at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was predeceased by her husband, Russell and her brother, Raymond.

She is survived by her children, Barbara Couser of Troy, NY, Carl (Joyce) Peter of Piffard, NY, grandchildren, Rebecca (Andrew) Sagarin of Troy, NY, Benjamin (Megan) Couser of Cairo, NY, Brittany Peter of Fowlerville, NY and Emily (Matt) Wolf of Henrietta, NY, great granddaughter Carmela Sagarin of Troy, NY.

She was born November 5th, 1934 in Buffalo, NY to Frank & Ella Barth. She was a longtime teacher at Perry Elementary School, retiring in 1990. She enjoyed knitting/crocheting, reading, and playing her organ.

The family would like to thank the staff at LCCNR for their compassionate care for Mary during her stay at the facility.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Saturday December 13th,2025 at 11am at York Presbyterian Church.
