Stephen R. Gallew, age 76, of Mt. Morris, died Friday, October 31, 2025 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville, NY. He was predeceased by his parents, Neil Edward Gallew and Annabelle Blanchard; sisters, Carol Dibble and Sharon Morrow.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Marks- Gallew; stepdaughters, Monica Waide and Charmae Kemler, all of (Geneseo) Mt. Morris. grandchildren, Dylan Nourse and Emma Gurney; great grandchildren, Logan and Trentan Nourse; brother, Edward "Butch" (Maryanne) Gallew of AZ; several nieces and nephews.

Stephen was born October 15,1949, in Williamsport, PA, the son of Neil Edward Gallew and Annabelle Martenas-Gallew. He was a US Army Drill Instructor, A Vietnam Veteran and a Purple Heart recipient. Upon retirement from his military service, he started his Commercial Roofing business, where he worked in Rochester, NY and all along the Eastern Coast for many years.

Stephen loved to fish and had done it since he was a small child. He was an avid golfer, which is where he met his wife of 32 years, Shirley, at Lima Country Club on the back 9 in her "amazing red shorts" as he so loved to put it. They enjoyed fishing, traveling and playing golf together at many beautiful golf courses down south. Stephen was an honest man and would give you the shirt off his back if he felt you deserved it. He will truly be missed by his closest family.

No prior calling hours. Memorial services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
