George Thomas Karl, age 69, passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack on December 21, 2024, in Phnom Phen, Cambodia. Born November 9, 1955, in Northville, Michigan, he was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Virginia Karl of Geneseo NY.

He is survived by his sisters, Kathy (Ben) and Lisa; his niece Lauren (Micah), and her children, Adaline and Harrison; as well as several cousins.

George graduated from Geneseo Central School in 1974 and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from SUNY Geneseo in 1983. Following his studies, he pursued a career in computer animation and software development. Among his professional accomplishments, he contributed to the animation in the 1990 film Total Recall.

George was curious and creative, with a deep passion for both technology and the arts. He found joy in getting to know others and visiting new places. In recent years, he particularly enjoyed exploring Vietnam and Cambodia.

A visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00 p.m. on October 17, 2025 at Christ Community Church, 26 Center St. in Geneseo.
