Isabell F. Erwin Obituary

In Loving Memory of Isabell Frances Erwin September 11, 2025 · Age 89

With hearts full of sorrow and gratitude, we announce the passing of Isabell Frances Erwin, who entered eternal rest on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at the age of 89. A woman of unwavering faith, boundless love, and joyful spirit, Isabell lived her life as a testament to grace, resilience, and devotion.

Born in Warsaw, New York on May 13, 1936, Isabell was the beloved daughter of Frederick and Frances Holbrook Mott. She embraced each day with a radiant smile and a heart open to all. Her love for God was the foundation of her life—she attended Bible study religiously, not out of obligation, but from a deep desire to grow in faith and share that light with others. Her prayers were powerful, her forgiveness unconditional, and her wisdom quietly profound.

Isabell's greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She radiated warmth, laughter, and love in every space she entered. Whether celebrating a touchdown or lifting someone's spirits, Isabell gave her whole heart—cheering passionately, encouraging generously, and living each moment with joy.

She was known for her unstoppable work ethic and fierce determination. She was the heart of Four Seasons Seafood and later Arbys in Lakeville, where she treated her employees and customers like family—bringing the same loyalty, kindness, and care to the workplace that she did to every relationship. She loved life deeply and found joy in the everyday: tending her garden, driving her Gator, or simply soaking in the sunshine. The outdoors was her sanctuary, and her hands were often in the soil, coaxing beauty from the earth with devotion and delight.

Isabell was predeceased by her son Jed Erwin, sister Betty Mott, and beloved life partner John Sawyer.

She is survived by her children Jay (Laurie McMenemy) Erwin of Nunda, Jeffery (Donna) Erwin of Sparta, Jon (Cyndy) Erwin of Sparta, Joy (Rob) Coakley of Honeoye Falls.

Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Joshua (Lindsey) Erwin, Hannah (Steve) Canary, Ashley (Bubba) Horan, Cheri (Jesse) Bodie, Kaylee (Matt) Cole, Michael (Cassidy) Erwin, Daniel Erwin, Anna Elizabeth, Kristen (Jeramie) Reifenstein, and Shawn Coakley.

She was blessed with 12 great-grandchildren who brought her endless delight and is also survived by her dear brother Fred (Debbie) Mott of Dansville, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family who will carry her memory forward.

A celebration of Isabell's life will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Sparta Central Church, located at 8455 Sparta Center Rd., Dansville, N.Y. 14437.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to Sparta Central Church, honoring Isabell's lifelong commitment to faith and community.

Isabell Frances Erwin lived with joy, loved without limits, and forgave with grace. Her spirit lives on in every hymn sung, every family gathering, and every Buffalo Bills game—where her enthusiasm was unmatched and when she could often be found jumping and hollering in the living room like it was the Super Bowl, cheering with the same fierce loyalty that she gave to those she loved.

Forever in our hearts. Go Bills. ????
