Peter C. Frisiras

June 25, 1929 – May 9, 2025

Age 95

Born to Chrístos and Vasilikí Frisiras in the village of Mikros Valtos, Corinth, Greece, Peter proudly served in the Greek Army before immigrating to the United States in 1956. On June 12, 1966, he married Daphne Brandetsas, who preceded him in death in 2009. Together, they built a life in Dansville, NY, later settling in Geneseo, NY.

Pete dedicated many years to the family-owned Frisiras Dry Cleaning and Tailoring in Dansville, NY. He worked at SUNY Geneseo for 25 years until his retirement in 1995. Even in his spare time, his passion for tailoring never faded—he generously shared his skills with many in the community and became affectionately known as "Pete the Tailor" in and around Geneseo and Dansville. An avid walker, he kept up his routine of two to three miles a day well into his eighties.

Pete was predeceased by his parents, Christos and Vasiliki; his brothers George, Konstantinos, Thomas, and Dimitri; and his sister, Marina Rappas. He is survived by his sons, George (Karie) Frisiras of Dansville, NY, and Theodore (Lisa) Frisiras of Fairport, NY; as well as his beloved grandchildren, Brittany, Sophia, and Peter. He leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews, both in America and Greece.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025 from 4-7 PM at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo. His Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025 at 10 AM at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 962 East Ave. in Rochester with Father Angelo Maggos officiating. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery in Dansville.
