Obituary of Ruth M. McCracken

Ruth M. McCracken, age 92, of Batavia, died Sunday, March 30, 2025 at the United Memorial Hospital in Batavia, NY. She was predeceased by her husband, Jerald McCracken Sr. in 2009.

She is survived by her children, Daryl McCraken of FL, Deborah Kreienberg of Irondequoit, Darlene (Edward) Koubek of Houston, TX, Jerry McCracken Jr. of Rochester, grandchildren, Katiann (Ted) Thorne, Emma, Shelby and Darby Kreienberg, Nicole Stanton-Koubek, 4 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Ruth was born March 4, 1933 in Retsof, NY the daughter of James and Mildred Johnson Slane. She was a graduate of York Central School, class of 1951. Ruth then attended and graduated from the Rochester Business Institute in 1953. Ruth and Jerry owned and operated McCracken Insurance Agency in Batavia for many years. She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Byron and also a member of the Quota Club of Batavia.

Ruth's Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 11 AM at the First Presbyterian Church of Byron with Rev. Michael Fry officiating. Private Interment will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in York.
