Obituary of Patricia J. Roggen
Patricia J. Roggen, age 90, of Caledonia, died Thursday, March 6, 2025 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. She was predeceased by her husband, Allen on Feb. 22, 2025 and her brother, William Jones.
She is survived by her daughters, Gail (Rex) Milner of Caledonia, Barbara (Dan) Fravel of Castile, Alana (Dan) Scalia of Cape Coral, FL, 7 grandchildren, Julia (Chris) Derouen, Timothy (Tara) Donaghue, Patience (Doug) White, John (Courtney) Phelps, Tricia Scalia, Danielle Meyer and Katherine Scalia, 6 great grandchildren, Ethan and Joshua, Joseph and Braelynn, Lana and Tessa, her sister, Pam (Clair) Thompson of Cuylerville, sister in law, Joyce (Richard) Neeley of Warsaw, nieces and nephews.
Pat was born on Friday the 13th of April 1934 to Fred and Elnora Welch Jones. She lived in Cuylerville, NY where she met the "cute new boy in town" when she was about 11. She graduated from York Central School and she married that boy a year later and spent the next 71 years by his side.
After his tour in Korea, Pat and Allen lived in Hawaii for a year and after his discharge from the Army they eventually settled in Caledonia and started their family. Once her girls were in school, Pat began her career in the Cal-Mum school cafeteria, working up to Manager. Pat has fed thousands of kids and prided herself for feeding nutritious but delicious meals. She was a wonderful cook who also had a catering business on the side. Pat was active in many organizations including the March of Dimes, as a 4-H leader and held many offices in the Eastern Star. Pat and Allen traveled the USA with the kids, traveled to many countries together and spent summers at their cottage on the lake. Pat was fun loving and adventurous. She loved to travel, loved to swim. loved the ocean and the lake, a good laugh and a nice martini. She was kind, nurturing and loving and will be deeply missed.
Friends may call Sunday, March 9, 2025 from 1-4 PM at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo where Funeral Services (Please Click here for Funeral Service) will be held Monday, March 10, 2025 at 11 AM with Rev.
