Obituary of Stephen A. Beach

Stephen Allen Beach, aged 66, passed away on January 28, 2025, in Groveland, NY. Born on December 12, 1958, Stephen, affectionately known to many as Steve, led a life marked by dedication, both in his professional endeavors and personal passions.

Steve graduated from Geneseo Central School and soon after embarked on a career that demonstrated his hardworking nature. He retired from the Rochester Institute of Technology's maintenance department in 2018, after which he continued to work at Kid Start in the maintenance department, showcasing his commitment to his vocation.

Beyond his professional life, Steve was a devoted husband to Cheryl Beach and a loving father to Kelly Willey, William (Jeffrey) Barham-Burns. He was also a cherished brother to Sharlinda (Randy) Eddy. His joy was multiplied as a grandfather to Zack, Hailey, Christian and Madison. Steve also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and loved ones who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Joanne (Al) Farruggia, stepfather, Pat Essler, brother, Michael Beach and close friend, Brian Parkhill.

Steve's zest for life was evident in his numerous hobbies. An avid outdoorsman, he relished in hunting, fishing, and camping. His love for dogs was profound, often reflected in the joy he took in their company. A skilled handyman, Steve enjoyed building and repairing things around his home. His social times were often spent grilling, enjoying a beer with friends, and embracing the simple pleasures of life.

His life will be celebrated with calling hours being held on Monday, February 3, 2025 from 4-7 PM at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo where Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at 10 AM with Father Michael Laver officiating.

In remembrance, the family requests that donations be made to SusieQ Dog ResQ, PO Box 236, Conesus, NY 14435 in lieu of flowers, honoring Steve's love for animals.

Steve's legacy is not just in the work he did or the hobbies he enjoyed, but in the strong, loving relationships he nurtured throughout his life. His outspoken, dedicated nature will be fondly remembered and sorely missed by all who knew him.
