She graduated from East High School in Buffalo in 1949, and then received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from SUNY at Geneseo, majoring in education. She was an elementary school teacher for many years, mainly in the Keshequa School District. She understood the importance of an education and took great pride in knowing that her children and their children were all college graduates, or soon to be. She also enjoyed gardening and creating special desserts for her family, and among her specialties were crème fresh and a minimum of three different pies at Thanksgiving, usually pumpkin, berry and pecan. She was a force of nature and will be missed by her family and friends. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
