Edith was my next-door neighbor for many wonderful years. I will always be grateful for her friendly smile, willing help and big heart! We enjoyed lots of walks around Stuyvesant Manor and conversations over the fence. Her grace and kindness will be much missed by so many people.

Edith and I became friends while we both belonged to Stitchery, our sewing group, and as members of Geneseo Garden Club. She was a great leader as president, a hard worker and easy to be with. I believe I was vice president while Edith was president of the club. She has been missed in the last few years due to health. We will continue to miss her. Rest in peace, Edith. -Bobbi Mahood

I remember fondly when Edith was a member of the team that went to Biloxi to assist with Katrina relief, I think 17 years ago. She had a sparkle in her eye and volunteered to sand drywall. a choice we all avoided! What a wonderful woman!!

Dear Edith Matthews family, she was a dear friend and always helped in any way she could. I even remember her up on our picnic pavilion roof helping roof it. She all was had that farm girl attitude and pinched in on whatever was going on at CPC. She always had a smile on her face. She will be missed. As a family we all have so many fond memories of times with Edith. She was a kind and caring person who touched our lives deeply. We will miss her. I will always be grateful for her support on the cemetery board. She and I shared a lot of laughs over a cup of tea in her kitchen over the years. Rest in God’s heavenly peace dear Edith. I am very sorry for the loss of your mom. I was her hairdresser when she lived in the memory unit at Morgan Estates. I enjoyed the many talks especially because I was Mt Morris student and loved Home Ec.... I have missed her since she left there. Rest in peace sweet Edith
