Obituary of Raymond A. Pedersen

Raymond Andrew Pedersen, 4510 Triphammer Road, Geneseo, NY died suddenly July 10, 2008 at the home of his son, Daniel, in Macedon, New York. Mr. Pedersen was the eldest of five sons born to Andrew N. Pedersen and the late Evelyn Wratten Pedersen in Leonardsville, NY. He was raised in Brookfield, NY and graduated from Brookfield High School in 1965. Raymond married Nancy Williams Pedersen on June 15, 1968 in New Berlin, NY. From this union a son and daughter were born: Daniel of Macedon, NY and Deborah of Geneseo, NY. Mr. Pedersen was employed by Kraft Foods in Avon, NY for more than 40 years. At the time of his death he was a group leader in Sanitation and Pesticide Control. He never lost his love of farming, and often volunteered for field work on neighboring farms. He was an excellent mechanic and always could be found working to repair malfunctioning machinery. He was a man of faith, and loved his family and granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his mother and an infant sister. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; his son, Daniel and wife, Jenine Pedersen; and by his daughter, Deborah Pedersen, his father, Andrew Pedersen and brothers Richard(Victoria), James, Thomas(Aurelia), and Douglas(Marie) Pedersen, all of Brookfield, NY, his granddaughters Erika, Jaime, Sydney, Mackenna, and Jensen Pedersen all of Macedon, NY; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service was held July 13, 2008 at the Word of Life Christian Fellowship in Henrietta, NY, the Reverend Philip McNeill, presiding. Cremains will be interred in Fairview Cemetery, New Berlin, NY at a later date. The Raymond A. Pedersen Memorial Award at Brookfield High School, has been established in his honor, and the family requests that in lieu of flowers gifts be directed toward the fund supporting this memorial.
